Description
Candelilla wax 6014 is a light refined candelilla wax extracted using citric acid.
The most common extraction process used by Mexican “Candelilleros” involves handling sulphuric acid as it is highly effective. However, this is detrimental to the health and safety of people processing the wax and to the environment in which the acid in being used. Since Multiceras started offering an alternative extracted with citric acid, British Wax has only purchased Multiceras candelilla wax extracted with citric acid, providing peace of mind for customers who want to ensure their products are sourced responsibly.
Candelilla wax can be used for cosmetic and food applications, or as a plant based alternative to beeswax or mineral waxes for candle making.
It’s also used in a variety of other specialty applications as soap-making, leather and furniture polish and blends with other waxes and oils.
