British Wax
The process of Batik painting goes back many centuries. Molten wax is applied to cloth which are subsequently dyed to create various decorative effects.

Beeswax is a well-known and highly valued wax as it is non-toxic, non-irritant, emulsifiable, and compatible with a wide range of other waxes, alcohols, glycerides and fatty acids. The British Wax Refining Company has been refining and blending beeswax for almost 100 years.

This wax can be used to seal and protect many types of closures and materials, from wine bottles to machinery and tools. Available in a variety of colours.

Obtained from the stem of a Mexican shrub Euphorbia cerifera, this wax is primarily used in polish and cosmetic formulations.
Wax used to give weight to hollow candlesticks.
Taken from the leaves of a South American palm, Carnauba wax primarily comes from Brazil.

British Wax produce a Carnauba residue for use in cream polishes.

These waxes are used primarily in the Lost Wax process for bronze casting. We have a number of formulations and melting points accordinging to the environment in which the wax is being used.
A range of Ceresine and Ceresine substitute waxes is available from British Wax.
We produce waxes of various melting points used in the manufacture of RGP contact lenses.

Japan Wax comes from the berry of the Sumac tree and is native of Japan and China. Both genuine and cheaper alternatives are available.

Paraffin wax is available in slab, beads / pellets, granules and powder.
Congealing points typically range from 42°C to 68 °C.
