Candles

One of the oldest uses of waxes is for the manufacture of candles, for both everyday and ceremonial use.   Beeswax was used for high quality church candles, while candles for general illumination were produced from tallow.

Over the last few decades, consumers have rediscovered the beauty of candlelight, such that it is estimated that up to 70% of US households use candles. For many years Paraffin wax has been the most common wax for producing candles, its properties being altered by the addition of materials such as stearine, microcrystalline wax and polyethylene waxes.

Natural Waxes

Recently, we have been promoting the use of renewable natural candle waxes, such as beeswax and particularly soy waxes. We supply a range of Container and Pillar Blends from Nature's Gifts Inc., as well as natural additives for wick wax and making visual effects.
